Solo and Troupe Performer

Sarah started Bellydancing about 7 years ago as a fun way to try and get fit but soon found herself with a growing band of friends who decided to take the fun one step further…………Sallama was born and Sarah found herself dragged into public performance, despite claiming to have no sense of rhythm or ear for music! Never having done any form of dance or performance art before taking up the bellydancing it was a bit of a big step but, given that it was unlikely to prove fatal, she decided that it was worth a shot. It also seemed like a fantastic excuse for buying lots of sparkly costumes, which satisfied her inner magpie, so Sarah capitulated and found that she actually enjoyed live performance. When not rehearsing or performing with the troupe Sarah runs her own business as an optometrist and escapes to the coast as often as possible to indulge her other passion – boating. She hasn’t yet found a way of combining the two – let’s just call it a work in progress!
